I just got a "new book announcement" from Amazon, and the words "the modern sewist" are included in the blurb.

Sewist?!?! What the heck? Is that even a word?

I've heard it a few times recently. But I agree, it's a ridiculous word.

People started using it a few years ago as an alternative to sewer which could be confused with pipes used for waste disposal. I don't necessarily agree that it's ridiculous, just different.
