What I really need is a braided rug like the ones I have in the kitchen and entry rooms, but I am not paying a lot of money for one.

You can make one using giant crochet hooks and strips of fabric, just like a braided rug, but faster.

If I had enough fabric of one color--or even a couple of colors--to do that, I would. Although it would weigh a ton! :)

I see you saw my solution on Plethora, so I'll respond on there too.
