I spent an hour and a half out in my big garden, communing with the dirt. Pulling up the skeletons of last year's growing and contemplating what I will plant this year. My seeds sit on my kitchen table, waiting. I will plant peas, beets, and possibly swiss chard today as well.

I also wore my new pair of garden boots, which I bought this year specifically to wear out in the garden. They needed to be broken in, so I thought this was a good time to start. I hope that these boots last me years and years; they are comfy and strong and well-made and they should serve me well.
