Let me put it this way: I will definitely be in the house by Sunday. Hopefully, Friday evening and all day Saturday, but we'll see.

Yay!

I packed some more this weekend, and started a Christmas present or two. Switched my day off from today to tomorrow (Pooh is going to the vet to be fixed if I can find him in the morning) and helped Bekah start to pack.

And I thought about things, SCR in particular. On my way in to work this morning, I 'received' the alternate beginning I'd been searching for. Rewriting will begin presently.

I have a lot to do this week, but I'm happy to finally almost be in my house.

Friday, I ordered a new computer. I had been waffling over the decision for weeks, because I didn't really want to buy the cheapest computer I could buy and go with that. I wanted what I wanted, and nothing less. (This is a difference of a couple of hundred dollars.) I wanted a new computer that would be useful, but I didn't have enough extra money to buy one just yet.

When I combined the fact that I will end up with a bunch of stuff to sell on ebay, not to mention the fact that I can't go without internet access at home for a long time (due to the nature of publishing) I decided to take the plunge and see if I could get approved for a Dell credit account. I tried this about four months ago and was denied.

Well, buying a house must elevate your credit or something, because I was approved! Yay. And now I have a spiffy new computer coming with everything I wanted on it, including a flat panel display monitor. Dell is having some great deals this time of year. (I got free shipping, a free upgrade to the monitor, a free printer, a free harddrive upgrade, and something else... can't remember what. Oh yeah. A free 2nd bay CD-RW drive!) Windows XP Professional, too, because at least I can stomach that. ;) So. That's one thing out of the way. And not too difficult to pay off quickly with ebay/other proceeds.

So I'm taking half a day vacation on Friday even if she's not out yet, and I'm taking off Monday and Tuesday as well, hopefully to unpack. Saturday the 18th will be cooking day (I have to make my traditional presents--Dad's cookies and Mom's candy) so I hope everything works okay with the stove. But we'll see.

The adventure is about to begin. ;)
