More progress:
It's coming right along. The blue bookshelf fit on top of the pine bookshelf, the cabinet (which is really pale blue, but looks white compared to my desk) fits beside my desk. Spindles are in the cabinet's upper compartments, fiber on the shelves behind the door. I finally have a spot to hang my favorite xkcd strip. (Which of course, I can't find on the site to show you...) I have a couple of misplaced items, but nothing too large so far.
And I still haven't brought down all of the drawers to my blue desk, but all but one of the drawers (and the big pieces) of the rolltop deskbottom are upstairs. And the cabinet wasn't as difficult to carry downstairs as it was to carry upstairs, either.
