Yesterday, I marked the anniversary of the first day at the downtown office. Which means it has officially cost me $3,000+ out of pocket to work downtown, since that is my number per year (and counting gas at $3.50/gallon; it's more now. And gas went up over $4/gallon last spring.)
No one else seemed to realize it was the anniversary.
Financially, I'm in a better place this year than I was last year. That's one good thing. But I'm nowhere near the end yet, and the three-hour-a-day commute is wearing quite thin.
I'm in a better place plan-wise as well, I think. Giving up clutter for Lent was a really great idea.
I will write more this weekend.
