The day after I brought my loom home, Dad called and told me there was one listed at a local estate sale listing service. It was smaller, older, and it stole my heart, and I got it for less than what I paid for the larger one. (I will have to name them now, I suppose.)
Anyway, it's oak with one cherry piece, counterbalance, four harness, four treadle, 24" weaving width (although it has a 22" reed in it right now. It doesn't really need a lot to get it working.
And so, unintentionally, I ended up with two floor looms. So that has made me rethink the Green Room a little bit--not much, but enough to move some things around--again. Once I get in there, at least.
While driving home (Dad had a clock to pick up at the same location), I checked my email on my phone and saw a coupon code for a Nook EReader--just the basic one, nothing fancy--for $64. This was so close to the $50 mark (which is kind of what I've been aiming for) that I really couldn't pass it up. Multiple times during the year I've wished I had a book with me when I did not, because the backpack I carry to and from work unfortunately only fits my netbook, not a hardback book as well. It would fit a paperback book, but I've been reading mostly larger paperbacks and hardbacks. And I'm not inclined to buy a larger backpack, since this one fits my netbook so well. And while I read all the time on my netbook, it's not really that comfortable to read on, and plus I bought it to write on anyway. And I've been wanting to try out an EReader anyway.
So we'll see if I like it when it gets here. It is just the Wi-Fi version, which is fine for home and at work, and it evidently holds something like 1200 books, so I should be good. ;)
So basically, other than cleaning the entry room, which is almost finished (!!!) that's been my weekend.
(Seriously, almost finished! I even got rid of Mabel's crate! And I took out the garbage!)

This is not where it will stay.

I think it would be very useful if I could put a lot of my most-used reference books on it, but I'm sure most of them are not available as ebooks, since most are out of print. I think it will be useful, but we'll see... I've been curious about them for a while.
