Well, I finished all my Christmas presents early this afternoon, so after sitting outside on the porch swing to enjoy the wonderful weather, I decided to try the candy again.
At least this time I got to 261 degrees before I heard it start to crystallize. (You can hear it--the sound changes when the spoon scrapes against the pan.) So maybe tomorrow. I'd really like to get it made this weekend, because I want to give some out at work.
But my Christmas presents are finished! I think I should probably do something constructive, like wrap them, or maybe put away my clothes... Hmm. There's an idea.
That also means, of course, that I am planning to write, which will be the first time in weeks that I have had time to write over the weekend.
