Okay, here's what I don't understand.
American Gods won a Hugo? Why? I really, really, really wanted to like that book, but it read like weak Tim Powers/early James Blaylock to me. I mean, I even sold my signed copy of it on ebay because I had no earthly desire to reread it.
And it won a Hugo?!?
I give up. I just don't understand. And I don't think I ever will.
But congrats to Neil Gaiman anyway. He's a nice guy, even though I didn't like the book. :)
