My sister Emily is in town for the week. I drove up to Columbus today to pick her up (in the heat!) When I got home, the kitchen temperature was 86 degrees, and Mabel was in her crate (the fan is blowing that way) asleep.
Duke Energy (Cinergy got bought out) asked that people conserve electricity today and turn up their thermostats. My air conditioners are usually set on around 78 anyway (There is no temperature gauge on the old ones, so I have to rely on the real thermostat temperature, at least downstairs) and the one in my bedroom is set on 77. It's still 84 in my office.
This is the part of summer that I hate.
It looks like we'll get a break later in the week, though. I can only hope that it sticks around.
